COAST GUARD CUTTER RETURNS HOME AFTER SIX-WEEK DEPLOYMENT SEATTLE - The Coast Guard Cutter Midgett, homeported in Seattle, returned home Monday after completing a six-week deployment to the Bering Sea in support of Operation Arctic Safeguard. The Midgett conducted fisheries boardings as part of Operation Arctic Safeguard, which is a federal program designed to ensure the safety of those embarked on the many vessels in the Bering Sea fishing fleet, and to protect the abundance of fish in Alaskan waters. The Midgett also conducted several search and rescue cases including the medevac of a commercial fishing vessel crewmember who suffered leg injuries aboard a fish processing vessel. The Midgett is a 378-foot high endurance cutter with a crew of approximately 167. ### The U.S. Coast Guard is a military, maritime, multi-mission service within the
