SEATTLE - The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Cuttyhunk towed the 89-foot fishing vessel Janice, to Astoria, Ore., Friday.
On Tuesday, the vessel became mechanically disabled approximately 240 nautical miles west of Astoria. The Cuttyhunk, homeported at Sector Field Office/Air Station Port Angeles, Wash., was dispatched to assist at the vessel's request.
Upon arrival to the port of Astoria, the motor vessel Magic, towed the Janice the remaining distance to pier 2.
The cause of the mechanical malfunction is not known at this time.
