COAST GUARD LOCATES DOWNED HELICOPTER NEAR BROWN'S BAY, WASH. SEATTLE - The Coast Guard located a large debris field from a downed Airlift Northwest helicopter near Brown's Bay, Wash., about 1 a.m., this morning.A 41-foot utility boat from Coast Guard Station Seattle located the debris field a half-mile from Brown's Bay. An HH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles, Wash., joined the search for the helicopter and its crew along with an Airlift Northwest helicopter and a Bainbridge Police Department boat. The Coast Guard Cutter Orcas, homeported in Coos Bay, Ore., and an HH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Port Angeles are continuing to search today. A unified command press briefing is scheduled for 1 p.m., at the Edmonds Fire Station, 8429 196th St. Edmonds, Wash. The Airlift Northwest helicopter was returning to its home base in Arlington, Wash., when the company's dispatcher lost contact with the aircraft at about 9:20 p.m. No patients were aboard at the time.
