ASTORIA, Ore. - An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Astoria medically evacuates a man from the fishing vessel Sea Spirit Tuesday, August 2, 2010. ASTORIA, Ore. — The Coast Guard medically evacuated an injured man from a vessel 84 miles west of Tillamook Bay, Ore., Tuesday.
The crew of the fishing vessel Sea Spirit contacted Coast Guard Group North Bend, Ore., after a 27-year-old crewmember aboard the vessel fell and suffered a head injury. Coast Guard Air Station Astoria launched an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew to the scene. The helicopter crew hoisted the man and flew him to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Ore., to be treated for his injuries.
