News Release: Coast Guard medically evacuates pregnant woman near Grays Harbor, Wash.

ASTORIA, Ore. — A crew from Coast Guard Air Station Astoria, Ore., medically evacuated a 25 year-old woman who was eight months pregnant, from a vessel 20 miles west of Grays Harbor, Wash., Sunday.

Coast Guard Group Astoria received a call at 10:55 a.m. that a woman had gone into labor aboard a 24-foot vessel and launched an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew.

The helicopter crew arrived on scene, hoisted the woman and transported her to Grays Harbor Community Hospital.
