COAST GUARD RESCUES 11-YEAR-OLD GIRL AFTER FALL FROM CLIFF 

SEATTLE - The Coast Guard rescued an 11-year-old girl after she fell from a cliff in Oswald West State Park, Ore., late Wednesday night.

A Tillamook County 911 dispatcher contacted Coast Guard Group/Air Station Astoria, Ore., after the girl had fallen from a cliff at Short Sands Beach, near Cape Falcon, Ore., and requested a medevac because of possible injuries.

An HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Group/Air Station Astoria was launched at 10:20 p.m., and arrived at the cliff at 10:32 p.m.

The helicopter landed on the beach and picked up the injured but conscious girl along with an ambulance medic.

The helicopter transported the girl to Legacy Emanual Hospital in Portland, Ore.
