COAST GUARD RESCUES 11-YEAR-OLD GIRL AFTER FALL FROM CLIFF SEATTLE - The Coast Guard rescued an 11-year-old girl after she fell from a cliff in Oswald West State Park, Ore., late Wednesday night. A Tillamook County 911 dispatcher contacted Coast Guard Group/Air Station Astoria, Ore., after the girl had fallen from a cliff at Short Sands Beach, near Cape Falcon, Ore., and requested a medevac because of possible injuries. An HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Group/Air Station Astoria was launched at 10:20 p.m., and arrived at the cliff at 10:32 p.m. The helicopter landed on the beach and picked up the injured but conscious girl along with an ambulance medic.
