TWO SAFE AFTER BOAT CAPSIZES ON THE WILLAMETTE RIVER 

SEATTLE – Two people are safe after their 11-foot sailboat capsized on the Willamette River, Ore., Monday evening.  

Coast Guard Station Portland, Ore., received a call from Multnomah County 911 dispatch shortly before 6 p.m., stating that a small pleasure craft had capsized after taking on water near Portland, Ore.

Two men were reported to be in the water.

A 25-foot response boat from Station Portland was launched to assist at 6:01 p.m.  Crew members from the response boat pulled the two men out of the water about 6:05 p.m.

The capsized boat was recovered by the Multnomah County Fire Department and towed to the Cathedral Park boat ramp.
