COAST GUARD RESCUES TWO STRANDED ON ISLAND NEAR LA PUSH, WASH. The boys were found by a Coast Guard Station Quillayute River boat crew, who transported them to shore and released the boys to their families. A La Push woman called the Coast Guard at 4 p.m. to report that four boys were overdue from a walk to The Coast Guard Station diverted a 25-foot response boat from patrol to search the island and a second 16-foot skiff was added to search the Quillayute The crew of the 25-foot boat located one boy on the west side of James Island. They attempted to signal the boy and he ran to the interior of the island. The 16-foot boat crew pushed up on the beach and sent a crewman after the boy.
