PORTLAND, Ore. — Coast Guard Station Portland will conduct water survival training for 20 U.S. Naval Sea Cadets Saturday April 24th from 9am to 2pm.
The Sea Cadets, ranging in ages from 14-17, are part of a non-profit youth organization that promotes a drug and alcohol free environment by working with the military with no obligation to join.
The cadets will receive classroom training, watch a video, and then don immersion suits and swim to a life raft off of the Coast Guard pier, simulating a shipboard disaster.
