Coast Guard to conduct response boat training |

WHO: CG Station Portland and CG Auxiliary WHAT: Response boat training. Focus on tactics, techniques, and procedures. WHEN: Monday, November 30th thru Friday, December 4th - day and night operations WHERE: In vicinity of Port of Portland Terminal 2 and Cascade General Shipyard, Willamette River. PORTLAND, Ore — Coast Guard Station Portland will conduct Response Boat Tactical training the week of November 30, 2009. This training will focus on proper procedures and tactical maneuvers for Coast Guard boat crew members to employ during typical operational situations. Station Portland's boats will conduct stationary and underway drills utilizing law enforcement blue lights, loud hailers, and crews dressed in tactical gear. This is refresher training for the crews. Boaters are advised that this training will include high-speed maneuvers by multiple Coast Guard boats. Vessels not involved in the training should navigate with caution through the area and comply with any safety instructions provided by the Coast Guard. |
