Coast Guard is responding to the report of a body in the water near Mukilteo Ferry Terminal

SEATTLE — The Coast Guard is responding to the report of a body floating in the water at the Mukilteo Ferry Terminal near Everett, Wash., Thursday.

Coast Guard Sector Seattle received a call at 9:43 a.m. stating that two people had spotted a body in the water.

The Ferry Kitsap launched their small boat in response but did not spot the body.

Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles, Wash., launched an HH-65C Dolphin helicopter crew, whose search also came up negative.

The Snohomish County Dive Team and Tulalip Fish and Wildlife have personnel on scene assisting with the search.

The Coast Guard Cutter Terrapin is in route to support the search effort.

The body was described as wearing a tan coat, blue pants and black sneakers.

The Mukilteo Ferry has been diverted to Edmonds.
