Coast Guard hoists injured man near North Bend

SEATTLE – The crew of an HH-65C Dolphin helicopter from Group/Air Station North Bend, Ore., medically evacuated an injured man from a 19-foot pleasure craft near the entrance of Coos Bay, Ore., Tuesday.

The Coast Guard was notified that the man had been injured at approximately 11:12 a.m.

A 47-foot motor lifeboat had attempted to assist, but determined that it would be dangerous to perform a vessel transfer because of heavy sea conditions.

The Dolphin helicopter crew transported the injured man to Bay Area Hospital, Coos Bay.
