Coast Guard locates missing rafters on Wilson River |

ASTORIA, Ore. - The Coast Guard located four missing rafters on the Wilson River near Tilamook, Ore., Tuesday. Group/Air Station Astoria received a request for assistance from the Tillamook County Sheriff's Office in the search for two men and two children who were overdue from a rafting trip at approximately 11:58 p.m. Monday. A helicopter crew was dispatched to search for the rafters and managed to locate them stranded on a sand bar near Mile 4 of Highway 6. The helicopter crew directed Tillamook County Sheriff's Office personnel to the scene where the four were helped off the sand bar. None of the rafters were injured. |
