SECRETARY NAPOLITANO TO VISIT WASHINGTON STATE |

WASHINGTON—Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano will travel to the state of Washington on Monday, July 27. While in Washington, Secretary Napolitano will meet with Governor Chris Gregoire and U.S. Congressman Rick Larsen and visit the 2010 Olympics Coordination Center in Bellingham and tour border crossings between Blaine, Wash., and British Columbia, Canada. Secretary Napolitano will then travel to Seattle, where she and Governor Gregoire will meet with DHS and other federal and state law enforcement officials at the U.S. Coast Guard Integrated Support Command and discuss cybersecurity, counterterrorism and immigration issues with state and local partners. Monday, July 27 8:45 AM PDT Secretary Napolitano will participate in a media availability with Governor Gregoire and Congressman Larsen OPEN PRESS* 10:30 AM PDT Secretary Napolitano, Governor Gregoire and Congressman Larsen will tour the Peace Arch border crossing OPEN PRESS* * Media may arrive as early as 7 AM PDT and must be in place no later than 7:45 AM PDT. Transportation will be provided to the Peace Arch border crossing. 12:45 PM PDT Secretary Napolitano and Governor Gregoire will participate in a media availability OPEN PRESS+ + Media must arrive no later than 11 AM PDT. Trucks must park near entrance and carry equipment into the facility. |
