Vessel overturns in Dabob Bay, three rescued |

| SEATTLE — The Coast Guard rescued three people from a capsized vessel in Dabob Bay near Quilcene, Wash. Friday. Coast Guard Sector Seattle received a call from Jefferson County 911 at 1:38 p.m. that a 10-foot aluminum boat had capsized with three people on board. A MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles was dispatched to the scene and recovered the three people who were wearing their lifejackets. Emergency Medical Service personnel were on scene to transport the three people from the helicopter to the local hospital. The extent of injuries to the people is unknown at this time. There are no reports of pollution. The Coast Guard reminds boaters that wearing lifejackets is important whenever operating a vessel. The Coast Guard also strongly encourages vessel owners to monitor ever-changing weather conditions and have multiple levels of safety equipment on board their vessels. This includes; properly sized lifejackets for everyone aboard, auditory and visual signaling devices and a VHF-FM marine radio. The Coast Guard also recommends that mariners take some type of boating safety course.
