| Coast Guard responds to boat collision | |
|
SEATTLE — The Coast Guard responded to a collision between a fishing vessel and a pleasure craft that occurred near Whidbey Island, Wash., Tuesday. The 38-foot fishing vessel and 19-foot pleasure craft collided around 8 a.m. in the vicinity of Possession Point. Coast Guard Sector Seattle, along with Snohomish and Island County boat crews responded to the scene. The Snohomish County boat crew escorted the damaged pleasure craft to Everett, Wash., while the Coast Guard boat crew stayed on scene until the fishing vessel crew safely pulled in its nets. There are no reports of pollution or injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation. |
