COAST GUARD MEDEVACS FISHERMAN NEAR COOS BAY

SEATTLE - A 28-year-old man was airlifted from a fishing boat today 50 miles southwest of Coos Bay, Ore.

At 1:15 a.m., Coast Guard Group/Air Station North Bend, Ore., received a call from the master of the Sea Wind requesting medical assistance for the man who became ill.

At 1:51 a.m., an HH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew was launched from the air station.

The crew hoisted the man from the vessel at 2:16 a.m. and flew him to the air station where an ambulance transported him to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
