The Umpqua River Lighthouse towers above the entrance to Winchester Bay, Ore

The Umpqua River Lighthouse towers above the entrance to Winchester Bay, Ore. The 65-foot tower contains a distinctive lens built in 1890 which emits a red and white flash of light. The lighthouse and adjacent museum are operated and maintained by both the Coast Guard and the Douglas County Parks Department. Tours are offered May 1 through September 30.
