It's finally here!
After some redesign and some self training we've got the latest Pacific Northwest Coast Guard Podcast up and running.
This episode the PA staff brings you to Coast Guard Base Seattle for Earth Day, Tillamook for a visit by the Washington State School for the Blind and Guantanamo Bay Cuba to hang out with the Deployable Operations Group's Port Security Unit 313, homeported in Tacoma, as they protect assets attached to the Joint Task Force there.
The opening was shot at the Alki Point Lighthouse here in Seattle. The lighthouse is currently home to the Thirteenth District Commander, Admiral Currier.
For those of you wondering what we use to do these podcasts; the filming is done on Sony A1U mini DV cameras and edited using Adobe Premier Pro CS3 and After Effects CS3 (that new animated text.)
I have to commend my staff as I compare this episode to our first episode. I think the training is wearing off as I can see the quality get better each episode.
We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did making it. If you have any story ideas, comments or questions let us know by dropping us an e-mail at d13ipa@uscg.mil, calling us at 206-220-7237 or filling out a comment at the bottom of this page.
On another note, we are working on making these podcast's available through other means. Right now we are also listed on i-tunes and at podcast alley. We are working through the issue of only one episode showing up and the download speed at those locations.
