The American delegation swung into full action today here in Seattle.  Smooth arrivals for all five foreign delegations were executed with the assistance from our DHS partners through SEATAC airport.  Each delegation arrived ahead of schedule at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seattle as a result of a highly coordinated arrival and transportation plan; kudos to our partners at CBP and Immigration and the talents of our interpreters and transportation team.

The USCG staff at the Hyatt ensured all arrival needs were met and the delegates quickly provided all conference materials after their long journeys.

VADM Charles Wurster, Commander Pacific Area, hosted the arrival reception at the Hyatt and encouraged the delegates to continue the phenomenal work that has been accomplished at previous meetings.  All attendees seemed glad that the travels were over and looked forward to a productive and fun week in Seattle.

Tomorrow starts a very busy day for the delegates.  Each of the Working Groups will spend a significant part of the day charting the future operations and initiatives for the NPCGF.  Who knows what great things will result from this multi-lateral forum?

Based on the results from the arrival day, we expect great results from this meeting.  It is absolutely phenomenal to see this diverse International forum get together and discuss the wide variety of issues that face the Pacific Rim countries.  Standby for tomorrows report from the North Pacific CG Forum!  We expect some great things to happen.

Again, kudos to Team CG.  Active, reserve, auxiliary are making this event happen.  Check out the videos and blog entries on www.uscg.mil for activities from Seattle.

Big day tomorrow.  Till then.

Deputy Commander, MLC Pacific
