Do you love to write? Are you a Boatswain's Mate, Machinery Technician, Damage Controlman or any rating, reserve, Auxiliary or civilian members, who has talents in writing but hasn't had any opportunity to let it show? Well here is your chance to let those skills flow from your imagination through your hand and pen and onto paper!

Radm Currier has announced the first D13 Competitive Writing Contest to encourage all members of the Pacific Northwest Team to share stories with shipmates on how to do your job, share successes and challenges, and to learn from each other's experiences. The D13 area of responsibility is unique within the Coast Guard in that we perform in every mission area, delivering services to the public in extreme weather conditions and operating environments. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in how we do business in D13 and other commands to improve upon our successes and advance our writing skills. This program fulfills a commitment made by all participants at the fall 2007 D13 Commanding Officer conference.
