COAST GUARD AIR-LIFTS INJURED LOGGER

SEATTLE - The Coast Guard air-lifted a logger after he was injured today in Coos Bay, Ore.

At 1:45 p.m., Coast Guard Sector North Bend received a call from a representative of Millicoma Logging Llc. that one of his workers was injured after a log rolled on top of him.

A Coast Guard HH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Sector North Bend launched to aid the victim.

A local emergency medical service crew arrived on scene to assist the logger. One EMS crewmember traveled with the Coast Guard helicopter and the victim was transported to Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay.
