COAST GUARD RESCUES MAN NEAR SILVER POINT, ORE.

SEATTLE - The Coast Guard air-lifted a 23-year-old male trapped on the rocks near Silver Point, south of Cannon Beach, Ore., Tuesday night at 7:33 p.m.

The man who was trapped on the rocks had swam too far and lost his suit due to rough seas. He managed to lift himself out of the water and onto the rocks.

The Seaside Police Department called Air Station Astoria at 7 p.m. and requested a helicopter for the search light because it was getting close to sunset.

An HH-60 helicopter crew from Air Station Astoria launched to aid the stranded man.

The man was air-lifted onto the helicopter and appeared to be hypothermic. The victim was transferred to local emergency medical service personnel upon arrival at Air Station Astoria.
