COAST GUARD AUXILIARY TO OFFER BOATING SAFETY INFORMATION, INSPECTIONS AT MARINE LIFE CENTER BENEFIT | |

SEATTLE - The Coast Guard Auxiliary will provide boating safety information and free recreational vessel inspections during the "Sand in the City" event Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Squalicum Harbor Boat launch in Bellingham, Wash. Boaters are encouraged to visit a Coast Guard Auxiliary booth for information about boating safety classes, federal and state regulations, and Washington State Boater's Education law. A large supply of recreational boating information materials will also be available and free to the public. To make an appointment for a vessel exam, or for more information contact Rod Sherman at 733-5633. The "Sand in the City" event features a sand sculpting competition and is a non-profit fundraiser to benefit the Marine Life Center in Bellingham. Admission to the event is free.
