SEATTLE - Admiral Thad W. Allen, Commandant of the Coast Guard salutes as his arrival is announced aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Midgett today. Allen visited with the Integrated Support Command, Sector Seattle, Station Seattle, Marine Safety and Security Team 91101, the Coast Guard Cutter Midgett, and the Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star. Allen also spent time speaking with Seattle-area Chief Petty Officers. Members of the Coast Guard gathered for an all-hands question and answer session with Allen in the ISC gymnasium where he remarked on his future vision of the Coast Guard and expressed his remorse over the loss of two crew members of the Coast Guard Cutter Healy who perished during a diving accident August 17. This is Allen's first visit to Seattle since becoming Commandant. (Photo's by Coast Guard Petty Officer Third Class Tara Molle)
