COAST GUARD COMMANDANT VISITS SEATTLE UNITS | |

SEATTLE - Admiral Thad W. Allen, Commandant of the Coast Guard, helps to pin a rank insignia to the collar of Petty Officer Third Class Travis Perez, a member of Marine Safety and Security Team 91101, during an advancement ceremony at Coast Guard Integrated Support Command Seattle today. Allen met with members of MSST 91101, Station Seattle, the Coast Guard Cutter Midgett, the Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star and Sector Seattle. Allen also spent time speaking with Seattle-area Chief Petty Officers. Members of the Coast Guard gathered for an all-hands question and answer session with Allen in the ISC gymnasium where Allen remarked on his plans for the future of the Coast Guard and expressed his remorse over the loss of two crew members of the Coast Guard Cutter Healy who perished during a diving accident August 17.
