COAST GUARD COMMANDANT VISITS SEATTLE UNITS | |

SEATTLE - Admiral Thad W. Allen, Commandant of the Coast Guard speaks with members of the Coast Guard Cutter Midgett during a visit to Seattle today. Allen met with members of Coast Guard Integrated Support Command Seattle, Station Seattle, Marine Safety and Security Team 91101, the Coast Guard Cutter Midgett, the Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star and Sector Seattle. Allen also spent time speaking with Seattle-area Chief Petty Officers. Members of the Coast Guard gathered for an all-hands question and answer session with Allen in the ISC gymnasium where Allen remarked on his plans for the future of the Coast Guard and expressed his remorse over the loss of two crew members of the Coast Guard Cutter Healy who perished during a diving accident August 17.
