ASTORIA, Ore. — The Coast Guard rescued five people aboard a disabled vessel near Warrenton, Ore., Thursday.
Coast Guard Sector Columbia River in Astoria received a report from Boat US that three adults and two children were aboard a disabled 22-foot pleasure craft, which had lost power and was dragging anchor approximately 1 mile northeast of Desdemona Sands at 12:45 p.m.
A 47-foot motor lifeboat crew from Station Cape Disappointment, in Ilwaco, Wash., was launched to assist and, along with the crew of the pilot boat Columbia, managed to get the disabled vessel safely towed to Hammond, Ore.
Nobody aboard the vessel was injured.
