ASTORIA, Ore. — The Coast Guard rescued three people after their vessel capsized west of Port Orford, Ore., Saturday.
Group North Bend received a call, at approximately 8:20 a.m., reporting three people on top of an overturned personal craft approximately 10 miles west of Port Orford.
Air Station North Bend, Ore., launched an HH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew while Search and Rescue Detachment (SARDET) Coquille River, Ore., and SARDET Rogue River, Ore., both launched 47-foot motor lifeboat crews.
The helicopter crew arrived on scene at approximately 9:10 a.m., and located the overturned vessel. Both 47-foot motor lifeboat crews arrived on scene and recovered all three survivors.
The 47-foot motor lifeboat crew from SARDET Rogue River transported all three people to Gold Beach, Ore., where they were evaluated by local EMS and released in good condition.
